We are a group of talented Makers and Creators from the Gold Coast and Hinterland Artisan community. We are dynamic small business creatives with a vision for celebrating the arts and crafts, both traditional and emerging for all the benefits art and craft across cultures and mediums bring to a community. This is our 5th event but our first 'festival'. We had so much fun at the last one we decided to scale up and share the benefits.
Through a variety of activities across a dedicated weekend in April we aim to broaden perspectives about arts and crafts and celebrate creativity in all of its expressions. If the things you interact with at any of our activities inspire a feeling, we have succeeded in our quest to inspire, to educate and to celebrate creativity.
Festivals are cultural and social events that bring people together! And this is what we aim to do for one weekend in April. Workshops offer unique opportunity to learn a self-satisfying new skill by making something special. The artisan's market presents a broad range of makers and creators offering authentic handmade gifts or self-indulgence ideas. Demonstrations by artisans show what is involved in making something by hand while exhibitions speak to our senses through a finished product. Through it all people come together sharing the many benefits arts and crafts have for individuals and communities.
Activities will be occuring all over the Gold Coast & Hinterland. The Gold Coast and Hinterland is a big place but Mudgeeraba, an historic village of importance sits in the heart of that space and currently hosts many of the activities associated with this whole of community event. Check out the Mudgeeraba Food and Arts Trail Magazine for more information about what this host village and Springbrook has to offer.
